Agricultura Orgánica

Chakana is a life philosophy expressed through wine. It’s a way of living, of sharing and believing, of existing in reciprocity. It’s understanding and being fully conscious of the fact that we impact the environment around us.

Since our beginnings, we have produced high quality, noble, expressive wines from the Mendoza terroir; always protecting the environment, committed to the care and study of our land and valuing the people who make it possible for our wines to reach the world.

Suelos mendocinos

May it not be a matter of indifference whether we harvest the fruit of the earth using unsustainable versus regenerative methods.

Our work has a commitment to the environment and society. We pay attention to every detail to ensure the health of the soil–Only this way can it provide us truly pure grapes. We avoid human intervention in the production process as much as possible to guarantee we maintain quality.
We integrate ourselves with the community that surrounds us and with those who actively participate in our labor.

Our vineyards

Convinced that "wine is born in the vineyard," we focus on obtaining the best quality grapes from each vintage by using agroecological practices on our three properties, located in the most emblematic wine oases in the province of Mendoza, Argentina: Finca Nuna is situated in the "first zone" of Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo; while Finca Los Cedros and Finca Ayni can be found in the prestigious Valle de Uco in Paraje Altamira, in the department of La Consulta.

Filosofía de producción

PHILOSOPHY
OF PRODUCTION

The roots of the Andean culture are a permanent guide for what we do. One of its principles–reciprocity–is perhaps the one that best summarizes our philosophy; we must all give back; return to the earth more than it gives us.

On the other hand, we have the principles of the natural wine movement, which was born in Europe as an agricultural, cultural and ethical reaction to the standardization of industrial wine and its loss of contact with the earth, the soil, and nature. We’re committed to practicing and transmitting these values.

WE BELIEVE IN VITICULTURE’S HEALING POWER FOR
THE PLANET

Biodynamics is a form of regenerative agriculture that sees each farm as a living, self-sustaining organism. Through organic practices, we can restore vitality to the soil and improve the well-being of the plants, animals and humans that surround it, resulting in a product of exceptional quality.
