On May 3, "Chakana Day" the company, founded by the Pelizzatti family, was born. At the same time, 300 hectares of land were acquired in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina.
2003
We had our first successful harvest of grapes at Finca Nuna in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo.
2005
The launch of the second warehouse in the winery was finalized.
2007
An exhaustive study of our soils began; another warehouse and a proprietary fractionation line were built.
2009
In the middle of November, one of the biggest late frosts in history affected 70% of the vines at Finca Nuna.
2010
An enthusiastic group of families who were moved by the passion and strength of the project join the winery as shareholders. The constant search for quality, which began a few years ago, is already beginning to manifest itself with the exploration of new farms, as a deep criticism of the current concept of "quality", the appreciation of agroecology and alternative productions.

A new 15-hectare farm is purchased south of the Tunuyán River, in Paraje Altamira, San Carlos, Valle de Uco: “Finca Los Cedros”.

The expansion into new international markets is consolidated, in addition to the reorganization of the wine portfolio.

The third property of the Winery is obtained, with the acquisition of 25 hectares in Place Altamira: "Finca Ayni".
2012
We started the formal transition to organic certification. In addition, we received a visit from consultant Alan York, the world's leading reference in biodynamics.
2014
Our Agrelo winery and vineyard, Finca Nuna, obtains organic certification!
2016
Chakana obtains Demeter certification for Finca Nuna, after more than four years following biodynamic agricultural practices. Demeter International is the only agricultural association that advises, inspects, certifies and guarantees that producers adhere to the set of values, principles and practices proposed by biodynamic agriculture.
2018
For the first time, we make and launch our line of sulfate-free wine: “Sobrenatural”. At the same time, in Paraje Altamira, we have the first harvest of our iconic wine “Vientre.”
2019
In December, the Pelizzatti family stepped down from the project. Chakana continues with this same spirit and purpose under renewed leadership.
2020
Ayni Malbec was voted one of the three best Malbec wines in the world at the Decanter Wine Awards, the award ceremony of the prestigious English magazine.
